The Preservation Pirates is a non-profit organization working to protect Lake Michigan and surrounding waterways for today and tomorrow.
Our mission is to reduce the amount of plastic and waste that ends up in our lake and surrounding waterways.
We are pro-actively picking up garbage that we find floating in our harbors and out in the lake. Our Members will be carrying long handled nets to retrieve any floating debris we encounter out in the open water.
Our trained divers will be retrieving debris from beneath the surface.
While boating in open water, we will be practicing “man overboard” drills, rescuing the garbage.
The Preservation Pirates seek to lead the way to a cleaner and more beautiful lake and lakefront by engaging citizens and encouraging community participation.
